About the Trainer
Throughout the years, PRATIQUE
has built a reputation of delivering quality programmes while
increasing clients' satisfaction and maintaining the recognition and
approval of various regulatory bodies and industries, which we are
proud to say, thanks to our Chief Instructor cum Training Director,
Mr Philip Loh.
Since 1995, Philip was already working as a free-lance trainer in
Experiential and Adventure Learning for a number of companies in
Singapore. Till today, he continues to gain wealth of experiences
and vast exposures from training school children to professionals
from locals to expatriates.
Further to that, Philip has also taken up numerous trainer courses
to enhance himself as an effective and successful trainer such as
The Creative Trainer; Developing Personal Confidence through Public
Speaking; Emotional Intelligence; Problem Solving; Personal
Effectiveness; Communication and Services; Facilitator Workshop;
etc..
On the volunteer basis, Philip was once a Boys' Brigade officer
serving as an Honorary Captain for the Primers (students) in Ngee
Ann Polytechnic. During his four years stint there, the Primers
under his charge have proudly attained the NYAA (National Youth
Achievement Award) Gold Award presented by President S. R. Nathan.
Philip has worked as a Paramedic for about 6 1/2 years under the
local Emergency Ambulance Service Chapter with the Singapore Civil
Defence Force (SCDF) since 1998. Throughout his progressive
experience as a Paramedic, he has dealt with a vast nature of cases
ranging from medical emergencies such as cardiac arrest (heart
attack) cases, to traumatic emergencies including road traffic
accidents and industrial accidents.
In Jan 2001, Philip was selected as one of the six pioneers Fast
Response Paramedics (FRP) to research, implement and launch the new
FRP scheme. This motorcycle one-man solo operation involves
administration of first-hand prehospital care prior to ambulance
arrival that includes treatment like performing Cardio-Pulmonary
Resuscitation (CPR), defibrillation, administering of emergency
drugs, patient stabilisation and other emergency treatment using
local EAS protocols.
In May 2002, Philip was certified by the Life Support Training
Centre (LSTC) of Singapore General Hospital (SGH) as a Basic Cardiac
Life Support (BCLS) Instructor; Community as well as Occupational
First Aid Instructor and later in 2004, an Automated External
Defibrillation (AED) Instructor. He has since actively conducted
courses as a free-lance instructor over there as well as National
University Hospital (NUH).
Currently, he is certifed as a Chief Instructor by National Resuscitation
Council, Singapore (NRC).
Philip’s unique and entertaining delivery of the lessons not only
helps participants develop a better understanding of the topics, but
also rapidly grow their interest in learning First Aid.
Other than First Aid training, Philip is also a Personal Trainer
since 2004 servicing exclusive clients from locals to expatriates.
He is certified by FISAF (Federation of International Sports,
Aerobics and Fitness) as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer;
Aqua Aerobic Trainer as well as a Fitball & Core Stabilisation
Instructor.
Most importantly, Philip strives to ensure that all participants
receive the best possible training and build the necessary skills
and confidence.
